Hugh Owen supports the PwC M&A teams in the wider Central and South-Eastern European region. He has extensive experience in M&A transactions, particularly in the fields of telecommunications, media and technology, banking, insurance, energy and healthcare, but also in other areas such as real estate. In addition, he helps conduct training and consultations for PwC’s clients.
Independent international legal directories such as Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, IFLR and Legal 500 have consistently rated Hugh Owen as a leading or highly recommended advisor in the field of mergers and acquisitions.
From 2004 to 2017, Hugh Owen was a partner at the world-renowned law firm Allen & Overy, primarily leading the firm’s operations in South-Eastern Europe. He was the Head of the Allen & Overy SEE Desk and, from the beginning of 2016, the Head of the Ukrainian office. He established Allen & Overy’s Slovak office in 2000 and its Romanian office in 2008. He was also instrumental in setting up Allen & Overy’s Baltic Desk. At the end of 2017, Owen founded his own consulting company, Go2Law, which subsequently advised on over 20 transactions valuing at over EUR2.5bn.
Hugh Owen has been a solicitor in England and Wales since 1996. He graduated from King’s College London.
